Review Committee:

Nominations will be reviewed by members of the Women Scientists and Engineers Council. WSEC will contact all nominators to follow up on their submissions.

    • Review nomination for appropriateness and verify the nomination meets the stated criteria.

    • Representation of women employees across categories at the Lab.

Review Process:

Each candidate was evaluated by at least 3 reviewers based on four factors: 1) scientific/professional achievements, 2) leadership/professional community service, 3) mentorship, and 4) outreach achievements. Potential conflicts of interests were avoided during the reviewing process as follows: the reviewers cannot be in the same division as the candidates, have business interaction with the candidates or be the nominator of the candidates they review. In addition, the names of the nominators were not revealed during the reviewing process. The reviewers assigned a numerical score for each of the four factors, and each reviewer scored all nominations within one of the four nomination categories so that the reviewing process was consistent.

Guidelines for submitting a nomination:

    • Multiple people can nominate the same person. However, these nominations will be consolidated into a single nomination, so the quality of the nomination materials, rather than frequency of nomination, determines ranking.

    • One person can nominate multiple individuals by filling out separate forms.

    • Self-nominations are admissible.
