What inspires you to work in STEM or operations?

Scientific discovery and the pursuit of truth.

What excites you about your work at Berkeley Lab?

The national impact!

How can our country engage more women, girls, and members of other underrepresented groups in STEM or operations?

Teach at all levels that girls and women contribute in important ways to discovery, and for first year undergraduates (why do universities still use the word "freshmen"?), teach the data showing that although the gender salary gap exists in all careers, it is smaller in STEM careers.

Do you have tips you would recommend for someone looking to enter your field of work?

Whatever the options are in front of you, make the more noble choice — however you define it — and you will rarely regret your decisions.

When you have free time, what are your hobbies?

Adventuring with my rescue dog, Neo and attempting to walk all of the stairway walks in San Francisco before 2020.
